Hubli Airport HBX
Karnataka is an Indian state with twin cities known as Hubbali and Dharwad. Hubli Airport serves these twin cities. Its exact location in North Karnataka is about 400 Kilometres from Bangalore. Here, you may find the airport 8 Kilometres Southwest from Hubbali (at Gokul Road), and 25 Kilometres east of Dharwad.
Named after one of the twin cities, the airport serves a population of 900,000. The recent development in this airport has been its planned expansion. The 1,670 metres runway is in progress of acquiring 650 acres of land, out of which 530 acres is currently used for agricultural purposes.
After this development, the airport is expected to start operating its international flights also. A high-level meeting decided to increase the land area of the airport and to start operating night flights as well. The airport only has one domestic terminal in operation. Currently, there are only two airlines operating from this airport - Kingfisher Airlines and Air Deccan. They only offer domestic flights to and from Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Every day, around six flights operate from this airport, two from each city.
Public Transport System:
At the airport, taxis are readily available for transport. However, the shuttle services and car hire companies have set up their small booking cabins over there.
