Air India Promotions

Air India, the country’s third largest airline and national flag carrier boasts of several promotional offerings, both regular and seasonal, for travelers who fly to its 75 domestic and international destinations across Asia, Europe, and North America.

Apart from its Frequent Flyer Membership Program, which awards 2,000 membership points upon enrollment, Air India offers both international and domestic promos for its passengers.

For its international flight promotions, Air India has inked an agreement with The Gateway Hotels and Resorts to present the Taj Gateway Offer, which features 20% discount at any Taj Group of Hotels. The offer, valid until September 30, 2012, includes complimentary breakfast, and free upgrade to a higher room category upon check-in.

For its Companion Free Scheme, Air India offers passengers the chance to fly their companions free from Delhi to Singapore, as well as to their Canada, Europe, and USA destinations whether on First, Executive or Economy Classes until March 31, 2013.

Senior Citizens 62 years or older who are traveling together can each get $1,300 shaved off their Executive Class round trip fares for non-stop flights from New York and Chicago to India, or vice-versa. This offer is valid for travel on or before October 15, 2012.

Domestic flight promotions include a group of Super Saver Schemes that comprise the Normal Super Saver, the Mini Super Savers in Executive Class, North East Super Savers, Islanders’ Super Savers for Agatti, and Islanders’ Super Savers for Port Blair.

Air India likewise gives a 25% discount on select routes within the country, such as Chennai to Delhi, Hyderabad to Delhi, Bhubaneshwar to Kolkata, and Delhi to Raipur, in both directions, for travel until May 31, 2012 for online bookings.

The airline is also promoting its Companion Free Scheme for its Executive Class and Domestic Class flights, as well as an Airport Upgrade offer to fly Business Class on domestic routes valid until June 31, 2012. Available for both international and domestic flights, the airline offers discounts for passengers who pay for their tickets using Air India’s American Express Silver Debit Card.

Passengers can also avail of Corporate Super Saver promo for Executive Class travelers, as well as the Maharaja Scholars Offer for 2012 to 2013, which features a flat 10% discount on Economy Class fares for students from India traveling to North America, Europe and the UK, as well as to Southeast and Far East Asia.

It also offers its Unlimited Flying Promo package, which is valid for all travel within India until April 30, 2012. Executive Passes (Platinum) are at Rs 75,000 and Economy Passes (Silver) go for Rs 35,000.

Other Air India discounts include Armed Forces Concession, Armed Forces Personnel-Recipients of Highest Bravery Award Concession, General Reserve Engineering Force Concession, LTC Concession, Para-Military Forces Concession, Senior Citizen Concession, Student Concession, War Disabled Officers Concession, War Widows Concession, and Youth Fare.
