Bagdogra Airport IXB
Bagdogra airport is a military airport of Indian forces, which is operated for civilian flights as well. It is located in the city of Bagdogra, which is situated in the West Bengal, India. This airport is about 16 kilometres away from the main city of Siliguri in the district of Darjeeling.
Currently, five airplanes can be parked at this airport. Currently the Indian Government and related authorities are working to upgrade it. Bagdogra airport soon will be equipped with night landing facilities, and category-III night vision equipment will be installed. Besides, Indian government has also allotted a land space of 14.5 acres for expansion of the airport. The number of flights and passengers is increasing every year at Bagdogra airport.
Currently Bagdogra airport is serving six airlines including Druk Air, GoAir, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, and SpiceJet. Bagdogra airport is a major stop for connecting flights to Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Guwahati, whereas SpiceJet operates only one international flight from Bagdogra airport to Sri Lanka.
From Bagdogra airport, shuttle service, taxi or car rental service can be availed.

Foreign tourist permits are also made at Bagdogra airport for individuals who wish to proceed to Sikkim. It also has an aerodrome with regular helicopter flights to the Capital of Sikkim for the convenience of the foreign tourists.
