Sholapur Airport, with the code SSE (ICAO: VASL), is a domestic airport, located 10 Km from the city of Sholapur in the state of Maharastra, India. The city of Sholapur is one of the districts that form the western region of Maharastra. Sholapur is a transport hub that connects Maharastra, Kamataka and Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu. Sholapur district is famous for historically being ruled by various dynasties. Its name is derived from the word “sola”, meaning sixteen and “pur” meaning village.
